Update on security following the tragic events in Pittsburgh
The synagogue recently completed a security assessment with the goal of reducing risk to our congregation. Security measures have already been bolstered with the aid of the local branch of the Sûreté du Québec, CJA's community security department and former RCMP & CBSA friend of the synagogue.
AWARENESS and VIGILANCE is everyone's responsibility. Should anyone see anything out of the ordinary, such as someone walking by, and filming, or loitering, or issuing threats, strange vehicles parked nearby, should immediately mention this to myself, the Rabbi or Police.
Please be aware that although the danger should be minimal, we should all be prepared and trained on what to do in an emergency.
We are all concerned for the safety of our community. With the measures we have already taken and still more improvements to come, I have been told that the potential dangers are already greatly diminished.
Hope to see you all in Synagogue!
